Giving Back: Spread Holiday Cheer to Seniors



Happy Holidays from Elder Law of Omaha. In case you wanted to do one more act of kindness to get on Santa's nice list this year, we have found several wonderful charities that focus particularly on seniors who are ill, home-bound, or without family this holiday season. Please consider donating, your generosity could make an elderly person's Christmas. Click on any of the headings below to be linked to charities website.


Santa to a Senior: Home Instead Senior Care Giving Tree

Home Instead spreads holiday cheer to lonely or financially burdened seniors by creating giving trees in communities around Nebraska. These trees are decorated with ornaments that have the name and gift wish of a local senior. Simply use their website to locate your nearest tree, pick an ornament, and return the ornament with the gift you have provided. The giving trees are conveniently located, in Omaha they are in Hy-Vee grocery stores.



Paralyzed Veterans of America (Great Plains Chapter)

This non-profit congressionally chartered veteran service organization has dedicated over 40 years to helping veterans with with disabilities across Nebraska, Western Iowa, and Kansas. They accept donations via their website. Additionally, the Omaha chapter will drive out to accept local donations of furniture, clothing, etc. Please call 402-733-4328 to schedule a pick-up. 



Fraternal Order of the Eagles (Eagles Club)

The Eagles support multiple different charities. The Golden Eagle Fund was created to provide assistance for programs designed to improve the lives of senior citizens. The Golden Eagle Fund provides resources to senior centers and funds toward Parkinson's and Alzheimer's related projects and research.
