Summer Updates for Veterans

Veterans in Nebraska have several new programs focusing on them. These two neighboring states are trying innovative approaches to improve the lives of their honored veterans. Furthermore, established veterans programs continue to earn high-marks in Nebraska. Here are the top 3 items for veterans and their families to keep their eye on: 1. Nebraska now celebrates military veterans by the optional printing of "veteran" in bold red letters at the bottom of their drivers license. 2. Home Base Iowa is a new program that helps transition veterans into civilian jobs in their state. 3. The Western Nebraska Veterans' Home in Scottsbluff won its 5th deficiency-free award from the Veterans Depart of Affairs this July.
